Monthly Update – July 2023

Happy July! To our Canadian friends I’d like to wish a belated happy Canada Day, and a belated happy Independence Day to our American friends! For most of us we’re into the summer, and at least around here that means cookouts and fun in the sun. Just make sure you’re all keeping cool and hydrated.

We have one new sim joining us last month. I’m excited to introduce a rather unique sim to Pegasus Fleet. The Artifact is a disabled Borg Cube turned research facility. The sim will be headed by our very own . Have you always been fascinated by the Borg? Why not work up close and personal with them? . The Artifact is a Borg Cube that has been severed from the Collective and lays dormant in Romulan Space. . The Romulan Free State has established a research facility on the cube to allow researchers to delve into the mysteries of the Borg. . Once again, congratulations on your new command. We can’t wait to see what you and your crew create!

We also have an anniversary to celebrate! On June 12 the USS Astraea celebrated its fourth anniversary! Please join me in congratulating Captain Laurens, , and her crew on this incredible achievement! Four years of incredible writing, and we’re excited to see what they have in store for year five!

Unfortunately, I have to once again say that we don’t have the awards together this month. I know we’re a few months behind, and we will be working on those soon and making sure that we have them ready for next month. . As a reminder, the Fleet staff are all volunteers, and we are often needing to split time between various Fleet projects as well as, most importantly, our offline lives. . That said, there have been some exciting projects going on in the background. While we’re not quite ready to reveal them yet, stay tuned.

The last bit of general business I have for this month is the 2023 SciWorld conference. The 2023 SciWorld conference was held a couple weeks ago on Saturday, June 24. Our very own was one of the panelists and did a great job leading a panel on developing characters at creation vs developing them while in play. I was very happy and proud to see that there was a pretty strong showing among Pegasus Fleet members who were actively involved in the discussions.

As always, Live Long and Prosper,
-Alex
